John Wayne, Ronald Reagan, Jane Russell, Errol Flynn, Clark Gable, and Walter Huston - were among the first to start it all... the Hollywood Western. No theatrical genre dominated Hollywood or the nation as much as the western. Classic plots from "framing" the Indians, ranchers fighting over water rights, to rounding up horse thieves... it is all here.

DVD 1:

The Outlaw (1943) - Famous western debut of Jane Russell with Jack Buetel as Billy the Kid, and Walter Huston as Doc Holiday.

Santa Fe Trail (1940) - Action western starring Errol Flynn and Ronald Reagan as West Point classmates and romantic rivals. Also starring Olivia de Havilland and Alan Hale.

Texas Wildcats (1939) - Good guys vs. bad guys western with Tim McCoy starring as The Phantom. Also with John Barclay and Ben Corbett.

DVD 2:

Riders of Destiny (1933) - Action western starring John Wayne as a Washington agent sent to get water rights for ranchers. Also starring Cecilia Parker, George "Gabby" Hayes, and Forrest Taylor.

Boots and Saddles (1937) - Legendary Gene Autry and Smiley Burnette teach an English newcomer the "code of the West." Also stars Judith Allen.

Under California Stars (1948) - Classic western of the lone cowboy, Roy Rogers, against a gang of horse thieves who hold the famous Trigger for ransom.

DVD 3:

The Frontiersman (1938) - Hopalong Cassidy (William Boyd) and George "Gabby" Hayes deal with unruly school children, a gang of rustlers, and a pretty school teacher.

The Painted Desert (1931) - Clark Gable's talkie debut as the bad guy in a romance western about young lovers caught between feuding families. Also with William Boyd and Helen Twelvetrees.

Dawn on the Great Divide (1942) - Cowboys and Indians western about lawmen who expose villains trying to frame Indians for their crimes. Buck Jones' last film.
